Skagen By- og Egnsmuseum

This museum is a combined open-air and indoor museum featuring special exhibits about fishery, life saving and shipping and a central building with museum cinema and activity centre among other things.

The museum displays the homes of both rich and poor fishermen, an old windmill, a life saving station with salvage vessel from 1910, and a memorial hall with expressive face portraits and biographies of Skagen´s rescuers along with a memorial wall with names of drowned fishermen who never made it ashore.

The museum of fishery displays the development of fishery and the town over more than 200 years.

In addition, the museum includes a ship´s smith´s workshop, the museum´s fishing vessel, "Hansa", which offers cruises to visitors during the summer, and the local history archives.
