There's a tradition for "doing a good deal" in Hjørring, which is an old market town in which town and country have met for more than 750 years. The town has always been a thriving centre for commercial trade.

Hjørring is Vendsyssel's biggest commercial centre with attractive shopping streets, side streets and pedestrian precincts, a wide range of special offers in more than 160 specialist shops, 14 supermarkets and the low-price department store A-Z.
10,000 square metre DIY storeAt the town's main approach road from the motorway there's a large new homestore containing Punkt 1, HTH Køkkener and Ide Møbler.
A brand new BAUHAUS of 10,000 square metre DIY store opened in Oktober 2008.
And there's plenty more development on the way in Hjørring.

In spring 2008 a huge new mall – METROPOL – will open with 14,000 square metres of shop floor space, 45 new shops, a new 3,000 square metre supermarket, a state of the art library and a big fitness centre.
Hjørring Touristservice, which is placed in the library, opened in April 2009.

Thriving commercial centreIn connection with the opening of the new shopping mall, the area of pedestrian precincts will quadruple.
400 new parking spaces will be established at the new mall, adding to the 1300 existing spaces in the town.
